Facial Gua Sha is hot right now!

If you follow the beauty world, then it is very likely that you have come across FACIAL GUA SHA.

What is GUA SHA?

GUA SHA has been around thousands of years in the Traditional Chinese Medicine world. Gua sha is translated as “scrapping sand.” This technique was first used the body to relax muscles, and fascia. Now before you go google gua sha…. WAIT! When we perform gua sha on the face, it is very different from body gua sha.

Traditionally, Gua sha involves scraping your skin with a massage tool (usually jade or quartz) to improve your circulation.

A practitioner first applies oil to your skin and scrapes using short or long strokes downwards to stimulate microcirculation of the soft tissue, which increases blood flow.

What are the benefits of Gua sha?

Gua sha is intended to address stagnant qi and blood in the body that is responsible for inflammation. Rubbing the skin’s surface helps break up this energy, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.

Gua sha is generally performed on a person’s back, buttocks, neck, arms, and legs.

Gua sha may reduce inflammation, so it’s often used to treat ailments that cause chronic pain, such as arthritis and fibromyalgia, as well as those that trigger muscle and joint pain.

What is FACIAL GUA SHA?

FACIAL GUA SHA uses gentle and rhythmic strokes on the face following specific pathways to encourage lymphatic draining, relieve muscle tension, and to break up fascia which can lead to fine lines. Clients notice the post-gua sha glow right away and it can be added into your night time or morning skin care routine.

What are the benefits of FACIAL GUA SHA?

Clients notice depuffing (lymph drainage), glow (improved circulation), and how relaxed they are after facial gua sha.

My method of Gua sha training not only helps with the aesthetic side of Facial Gua sha, but also it can help with TMJ, headaches, neck and shoulder tightness, muscle tension and sinus congestion. Facial Gua sha will leave you relaxed, centred, and rejuvenated.
